Deadline to file a Degree Application for Current Term

  • Log into my.nmsu.edu, click “Student”, then click “Your Student Profile Page” and on the profile page click the “Apply to Graduate” link on the left side of the page.
  • Complete the Application for Degree for the current term. If an application for a previous semester was submitted, but the degree was not awarded, a new application is required. You may need to contact diplomas@nmsu.edu to reset your account so that you can reapply.

Deadline to submit dissertation titles to the Graduate School

This is for Ph.D., DRPHIL, DNP and DED degrees only.

Deadline to turn in the Final Exam Form for thesis, dissertation or Professional Doctorate exams:

  • Master's Thesis
  • Doctorate of Philosophy
  • Professional Doctorate (Doctorate of Nursing Practice, Doctorate of Economic Development, Doctorate of Education)
Note: This form must be submitted to the Graduate School ( grad-degrees@nmsu.edu) at least 10 business days before the exam is held. The Graduate School will then send out your exam paperwork electronically to your committee chair and deans' representative. All required signatures must be obtained before submitting this form. If this form is not submitted on time, you may need to reschedule your exam.
November 7th

Deadline to hold a thesis, dissertation, or doctoral final oral or written exam

To sit for the exam, enrollment in a minimum of 1 credit hour thesis, dissertation or doctoral project hours is required.
November 14th

Deadline to submit a thesis or dissertation to ProQuest

Refer to Thesis and Dissertation for formatting and required forms.
November 14th

Deadline to turn in the Final Exam Form for Master's non-thesis students and Educational Specialist students

Contact your department advisor for departmental procedures for non-thesis exams. This form must be submitted to the Graduate School ( grad-degrees@nmsu.edu) at least 10 business days before the scheduled exam is held. The Graduate School will then send the exam paperwork to your chair and dean's representative. All required signatures must be obtained before submitting this form. If this form is not submitted on time, you may need to reschedule your exam.

December 9th

Deadline to hold a non-thesis final oral or written exam

In order to hold your exam, enrollment in 1 credit hour is required.

Reminder

Final examinations need to be scheduled no later than April 13th for Thesis, Dissertation or Professional Doctorate Exams. Results are within ten (10) days after the exam.
